京都の宇治、お茶の街。

Uji, the home of Matcha, is a lovely town surrounded by green hills, clear rivers and streams which are perfect for cultivating green tea leaves. My cousins lived in this little town and my family often visited them when I was little. While our parents enjoyed their tea ceremony at a tea house by Uji river, my cousins and I would go to our favorite ice cream shop and indulged ourselves into creamy dreamy green matcha ice cream! Still now, their skyscraper-towering-matcha sandae is an absolute dream food!!

Bologna Children's Book Illustrators Exhibition at Otani Art Museum

Bologna Children's Book Illustrators Exhibition has started at Otani Art Museum (Aug 19 - Sep 24) in Nishinomiya. The museum now displays the works of 75 illustrators selected from a total of 16840 entry works spanning 61countries! I'm so thrilled to be a part of such a fabulous showcase.

2017年8月19日(土)～9月24日(日)　作品をエントランスの壁画にも使っていただきました。

ホイアン、大変楽しかったです。時間が足りず、おいしいローカルフードを全て制覇できなかったのが非常に心残りであります。
I fell in love with this ancient town. At night, the town was lit up with colorful lanterns and it looked really magical! The food was also AMAZING! A number of good restaurants/street vendors and cafes with lovely local specialities! I especially loved Banh Mi, Vietnamese yummy sandwich. I could eat this all day.

If you visit Tokyo and get a chance to come around Shinjuku area, I’d like to introduce you to this amazing art supply store called SEKAIDO. In this 6 story building, you’ll find absolutely everything to make arts and craft. Stationery, papers, paintings, paintbrushes, sculpturing, clay, frames, office supplies, I can go on forever! SEKAIDO truly is an artist’s heaven and it’s the cheapest in the town! I usually meander around on the 1st floor checking on new items and always buy MONO erasers and different sizes of double-sided tapes. Then I go to the 2nd floor to savor beautiful papers, and the 3rd floor to indulge myself into the sea of colorful paintings and pastels! To finish off, I have yummy ice cream sundaes at a lovely tea lounge on the 5th floor. This place is a paradise. I wish I could live on its rooftop and be surrounded by the sea of art supplies everyday!
