Masai Mara National Reserve

One year ago today, I was in the middle of savanna, Masai Mara National Reserve, in Kenya. It was amazing to see all these wildlife from giant elephants to lion's prides to a strayed wild beast. There was so much to see, not only big animals, but also small insects and quirky plants! Can you find a tiny glowworm in the map?

Hanoi is fascinating. Lots of lovely old buildings, parks, lakes, and great shopping! The water puppet show is really worthwhile and fun. The puppets are super cute! Hanoi is one of the best cities for coffee lovers. They have lovely cafes on every corner!

Lotus Tea Ice Pops

Vietnamese lotus tea smells so relaxing. I love to have it ice cold on a hot day! Lotus tea bags and candied lotus seeds are available at Asian grocery stores. You can also use roasted peanuts instead of candied lotus seeds.

Spicy Couscous Soup

What's not to love about couscous? This lovely food is very healthy, nutritious and easy to digest. I love it when the tiny pearl -like grains are all over my soup. Combined with little chickpeas, it looks even cuter!

Tom Yum-Yum Goong Soup!

Tom Yum Goong is always one of my favorite Thai cuisines! This spicy soup is so savory and addictive. You can use frozen shrimp and chicken stock instead, but I really recommend using fresh shrimp and make a nice broth as the recipe guides. Best Tom Yum Goong calls for a good shrimp stock and it is so much YUMMIER!!

If you are a coffee/ice cream addict then this is the recipe for you! The bitterness of coffee and the aroma really go well with rich sweet ice cream. You can add salted nuts or more! scoops of ice cream if you want! 

Salty Pineapple Lassi

Lassi is one of my favorite drinks. It has a large variety of combination from plain to mango to almost any kind of tropical fruit. I would go for pineapple with a hint of salt when it gets really hot in the summer!  It'll be perfect if it comes with yummy spicy Indian curry too!

Mermaid Pearl Milk Tea

I first encountered pearl milk tea when I visited my friend in Taiwan many years ago. Since then I have been a big fan of this lovely drink. I love the chewy texture of tapiocas and the feeling of balls rolling on my tongue through a big straw :))) 

Pearly Watermelon Jelly

Watermelon is probably the most familiar fruit of all for me when I lived in Thailand. I ate it almost EVERYDAY and whenever I bought slices of it from a street vendor, I always picked the red and yellow one together. I just loved the cheerful color combination!  This color-pallete-like jelly recipe reminds me of many of the memories I experienced in Bangkok and is perfect for hot summer days!

Nimmanhaemin Road, Chiang Mai, Thailand

Nimmanhaemin Road(aka Coffee Street) is a chic and trendy area in Chiang Mai. An either side of the road, dozens of alleyways(soi's) branch out. In these sois, there are looooots of cafes, ice cream shops, galleries and lovely book shops. The best thing to do is to wander up and down the sois and see what you discover.  You can find a hidden gem around every corner!

I've often had this strange dream that I was desperately looking for a bathroom. I finally found it but someone was always using it and reading a book. I couldn't hold it any longer, but then suddenly another toilet seat just magically appeared from the back of the toilet. So I managed to make it! Phew! Y.S.
